Training

Last year, having decided on a change of trainer for 226 Favory Naussica ("Maestro"),options were weighed up, and owner Georgina Beard of the Fulmer Rise Stud in northern NSW accepted to send the imported stallion to Nadine Merewether in Perth, Western
Australia, a 5000klm journey.

Nadine trained and competed the Stud's previous stallion, Pluto Nima -XII (imported as a four year old from the Spanish Riding School of Vienna). The pair had huge success in four States of Australia, being Champion at all levels at National Dressage Championships up to and including Prix St Georges. After that, they thrilled audiences withtheir displays in long reins. After Pluto was retired, Nadine took on Warmblood Barrabadeen Troupadore with which she had legendary success.

On Monday 15 February 2010, Maestro was presented by Nadine to a group of about thirty people at her property in Wattle Grove Western Australia. Maestro's movement has become a great deal more extravagant with correct training and correct feeding. He has become a far more muscular and consequently is looking as he should be - shapely and baroque. His movement is straight and correct and he has terrific
hock action and reach. The stallion showed his three outstanding paces, which combined with his beauty, provided a great show.

Nadine told the audience that the horse is all quality, and has all ability to go on with but we ended the display by announcing that Nadine has found that she simply has not the time to put into the horse, as her only daughter has (unexpectedly) had a baby and she is spending a great deal of time in Margaret River, helping to look after the baby, allowing Anna to go back to work. Nadine also teaches all over the State, spending little time at home. She keeps a punishing schedule! We are now looking at options for the future.
